HitchHoist® Railway Applications Save on Manpower
- HitchHoist for Hyrail Vehicles
The railway industry sees the need for the HitchHoist®. In fact, so much so that we have modified the HitchHoist® especially for the railway industry and in particular Hyrail Vehicles. Two of the main reasons why the HitchHoist® is found so useful to railroad companies (just like other industrial markets, such as power and utilities), are:
- HitchHoist® saves on manpower costs. One person can be dispatched to a job site, where two would be needed just for lifting heavy equipment, and the second person can be dispatched to another job.
- HitchHoist® can save money with the potential to lower compensation claims due to back injuries.
As you can see in the picture to the right, hyrail vehicles, as well as pick-up and work trucks, with caps can use the HitchHoist, but a bedslide is required.
The HitchHoist® was modified for hyrail vehicles because the hitch receiver (on these special vehicles) is much higher from the ground than on standard pick-up and work trucks, making the ram pump handle too high to easily manouver. The hyrail verison of the HitchHoist alleviates the problem altogether.

You can also drive with the HitchHoist® fully assembled and installed on your vehicle. Simply turn the release valve on the ram to lower the boom and secure the boom so that it will not move during transport.
